Words Out Loud: Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday on PBAFM (89.7) at 10.30am. (Aust CST) A radio show with writing tips, author interviews, reviews on the writing scene and a 5 word challenge. Hosted by Jo Baker, Carolyn Corden and Marylin Simpson.

2017:

1-2 April: Adelaide Oz Comic Con: Karen had a table in Artists’ Alley and co-presented a talk on Self Publishing.

25th Feb: Salisbury Secret Gardens (part of The Adelaide Fringe).

14th Feb: Our Books Are Not FreeFB virtual indie author event (worldwide), discussing her books and answering questions.

Feb 14th: Karen launched her first eBook collection of short stories, With the Twist of the Nib, on Jo Baker’s regular pbafm radio show, Words Out Loud.

2016:

Feb 19th – March 14th, 2016: The Adelaide Fringe. Two of our members participated in The Fringe for the first time.  A Trail of Tales was  an exhibition combining the talents of local Tea Tree Gully writers and artists, based on history, legend and magic of Pine Park and its surrounds. Written works can be found on the website.

Book Pre-Launch: August: hosted by Aus Sci Fi: 2pm- 6pm at Hillcrest Community Club.
Karen Carlisle will be talking about becoming an indie author, steampunk, Q&A, and launching the second book of the Adventures of Viola Stewart series, Eye of the Beholder & Other Tales.
Book Launch: September 17th: hosted by Steampunk Festival (National Railways Museum). Karen launched the second book of the Adventures of Viola Stewart series, Eye of the Beholder & Other Tales, with a reading and giveaway.

2015:

Book Expo Australia, Sydney Showgrounds: (17-18/10/15) Karen Carlisle’s book, Doctor Jack & Other Tales, were featured in The Indie Book Shelf at the Expo.

Supanova Adelaide: (20-22/11/15) Karen Carlisle had a booth at Supanova Adelaide – pop culture expo. Paperback copies of Doctor Jack & Other Tales was available for purchase.

Mini Comic Con by Dark Oz: (1/11/15) Karen Carlisle attended the the inaugural Mini Comic Con. Paperback copies of Doctor Jack & Other Tales was available for purchase. (1st November, 2015)

Talk on Writing Steampunk and Self Publishing: (2/9/15) Karen Carlisle was asked, by Critical Mass, to do a talk for their meeting. Held at the SA Writers Centre

Book Launch: (30/5/15) Karen Carlisle launched her first paperback novella, The Adventures of Viola Stewart Journal #1: Doctor Jack and Other Tales, at Steampunk Festival 2015 at the National Railway Museum, Port Adelaide.

Radio Interview ABC 891: (29/5/15) Karen Carlisle was interviewed on ABC 891 by Peter and Paul, on Steampunk.

2014:

Words Out Loud: (30/5/14) Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday on PBAFM (89.7) at 10.30am. A radio show with writing tips, author interviews and reviews on the writing scene, hosted by Connie Berg, Jo Baker and Rhonda Pooley.

Style and Form in Fiction: (12/5/14) Connie Berg ran a writing workshop based on lessons from The Elements of Style (Strunk/White). Held at The Paddocks Community Centre, Para Hills West.

Arts Feast: (26/1/14) Jo performed at Arts Feast, Strathalbyn, holding a workshop “Writing to be Heard” (10am) and performing poetry, including some of her latest work. Copies of her book  “A Very Strange Person” are now available for sale.
